World Mental Health Day
On October 10th, we join the global community in recognising World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme, chosen by the Mental Health Foundation, centres around the importance of workplace mental health highlighting how mental health and wellbeing in the workplace are critical to both individual success and the overall success of organisations.
At Amica Care, we know that fostering a positive and supportive environment begins with open conversations around mental health. It’s essential that we create a space where employees feel comfortable seeking help when they need it, without fear of judgment or stigma. To support our commitment to mental wellbeing, we have trained Mental Health First Aiders across our 5 homes, 3 independent living sites and support office.
These team members are equipped to provide confidential, compassionate support to any staff member who may be struggling with mental health challenges. Whether it's stress, anxiety, or simply needing a listening ear, our Mental Health First Aiders are here to help our team members find the right support when they need it most. By creating a safe, supportive environment for our employees, we empower them to provide even more attentive and empathetic care to you and your loved ones.
Workplaces play a huge role in shaping mental wellbeing and supporting mental health in the workplace benefits everyone; employees and communities alike. It leads to better communication, increased morale, and greater resilience when facing challenges.
Let’s commit to making mental health a priority, not just on World Mental Health Day, but every day. Together, we can foster a culture where everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered to take care of their mental health.
