Forget Me Not celebrations

Our Amica Care homes held an uplifting service to commemorate residents who passed away over the last year. Residents and staff, along with the families whose loved ones had passed away over the last 16 months, came together for a moving afternoon of remembrance. 

Each home organised their own events, making it a unique commemoration. From moving speeches to poems and prayers readings, it was a fitting and emotional tribute. Then in the bright summer sunshine residents and staff went out to watch the release of the biodegradable balloons.
Some of our homes also introduced a memorial tree for anyone who wishes to pay tribute to loved ones. 

Afterwards, residents and staff enjoyed refreshments as they shared fond memories of their late loved ones. The afternoon was one of love, care, respect and dignity.

These annual events were organised by our Home Managers and are usually held every year. Sadly the pandemic meant that we could not host our event in 2020.
