Care Quality Commissioning report regarding St John's Court
A report by the CQC has been issued presenting the findings of the quality of care provided by St John’s Court and indicates that our overall rating is ‘requires improvements.’
We would like to reassure everyone that the quality and standard of care that we provide to our residents is of vital importance to our team here at St John’s Court. We were extremely proud of the ‘Outstanding’ status we held since 2016 and in response to the inspection, we systematically addressed each of the findings of the report immediately to make the improvements required
St John’s Court, like many homes across the globe, has had to face many challenges these past two years with Covid-19. It has been a very stressful and emotional time for everyone who have worked tirelessly to give everything they can to care for our residents.
Many of our improvement projects were put on hold due to infection outbreaks and challenges in both supplies and getting contractors during this time
However, over the last few months, we have made improvements to maintain a safe, caring, responsive and well led home. We recently introduced a new management team, led by Mark Brunner, our recently appointed Home Manager with over 17 years’ experience.
As a result of the inspection the local clinical commissioning group visited the home and were pleased with their findings and have not raised any concerns regarding the care of provided at St Johns Court.
We are committed to continue to invest in both our staff and the home and are working together to achieve an outstanding service. We would like to apologise to the people we support and their loved ones for the outcome of this inspection and assure them of our absolute commitment to restoring the service to the high standards we set for ourselves. We were encouraged to see that the CQC key findings indicated that our residents were cared for in a caring environment that was equipped to meet their needs.
