Announcing the Winner of the 2024 Garden Competition

We are overjoyed to share the exciting news of the 2024 Amica Care Garden Competition winner! This year's competition was extra special as we celebrated 100 years of Disney through the creative and magical gardens designed by our talented residents. 🌷✨

Congratulations to The Orchards Care Home in Crewkerne for their exceptional garden that brought the enchantment of Disney to life. Their design, inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland and the adventurous spirit of Peter Pan's Neverland, captivated our judges and earned them the top prize. The Orchards even greeted the judges with a proper Disney parade, reminiscent of the ones seen in Paris, adding to the magical atmosphere.

Our residents poured their hearts into transforming their gardens into Disney-themed wonderlands. Each entry was a unique story filled with charm and creativity, making the competition fierce and delightful. We are incredibly proud of everyone's efforts and dedication.

The Orchards' success was a community effort, involving the local primary school, Maiden Beech, to bring their vision to life. Their collaborative spirit truly shone through in every detail of their enchanting garden.

This year, our judging also included an extra category focused on biodiversity, aligning with Amica Care's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. It was wonderful to see how all the participants embraced this theme, highlighting their commitment to environmental stewardship.

As the winners, The Orchards will receive a £200 voucher for their residents' funds and a trophy to display proudly in their home.
