A diamond day for nursing resident and husband's 60th anniversary
Celebrations were in the air at St John’s Court Nursing Home as Resident, Robina, celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary alongside her husband, Ken.
The St John’s Activity Team decorated the Home lounge with lights, a love seat, an archway decorated with flowers and Ivy and petals shaped into a heart on the floor. The whole room had a chapel feel about it.
The couple enjoyed an afternoon of celebrations as they listened to a playlist of their favourite songs, created especially for the big day.
St John’s Court provided the couple with an anniversary cake and an afternoon tea which was enjoyed by all the residents.
Robina’s husband Ken was so touched by the effort. He said “I can’t believe how much effort you’ve gone to”. He sent a card and chocolates after the celebrations as a thank you.
The Activities Team said “it was such a pleasure to help make Ken and Robina’s day special. They are a wonderful couple, and 60 years of marriage pays tribute to that. It was also lovely to involve the other residents in the celebrations. Thank you to the whole team and the residents for their love and kindness throughout the day”.
